Getting Approved for Solar Panel Installation

Getting approved for solar panel installation will depend on your specific circumstances and home. However, understanding the different types of technologies and products that go into solar panel installation will help ensure you make the best decision for your home. You can learn more about the specific installation process.

Panels and Hardware

We use leading brands for our solar solution installation across different components. Each product and brand has been carefully selected for rigorous manufacturing quality, durability, and innovation.

When you work with Force of Nature, you can rest assured that you will get the highest quality products in every component of your custom solar system.

01

Many types of solar panels are available. Monocrystalline panels are made from a single silicon crystal, while polycrystalline solar panels are made from multiple silicon crystals. There are also thin-film solar panels available and bifacial solar panels. Our team will help you choose the best type of solar panel for your home based on your location, needs, and available space.

02

There are multiple sizes available for solar panels depending on the size of the home. The wattage, or the amount of electrical power the panel can produce, will also vary depending on the home’s needs.

03

Mounting hardware refers to the equipment and materials needed to safely secure solar panels on rooftops, walls, or the ground and get the best angle possible. Mounting hardware can include brackets, rails, clamps, and other components needed to ensure panels are fixed in place and receive maximum exposure to sunlight.

Brackets and Mounting Rails

Brackets and mountain rails are used to ensure the panels are securely mounted and positioned at an optimal angle to capture sunlight. Brackets are generally made of aluminum or steel and connect solar panels to the roof or ground. Mounting rails are horizontal metal bars attached to the brackets and support the solar panels through specially designed clamps.

04

Energy converters convert direct current power generated by the panel into usable alternating current power for homes. Without energy converters, the solar energy generated by the panels would not be compatible with the electrical system in your home. Regulators control the voltage and electric current produced by the solar panel to ensure there is no damage caused to the home’s electrical system.

Solar Storage: How to Store Solar Energy

When you generate energy from solar panels, you’ll typically benefit from the power generated right away. However, if your solar system generates excess energy, it will either route back to your utility company or you can store it with the proper equipment.

Net Metering Opportunities

Most states have a net metering policy that allows homeowners to sell the excess energy they generate through solar panels to their utility companies for a negative bill, which then goes toward their future power usage on overcast or rainy days as well as at night.

Depending on where you live and what Solar Export Credit Rates your utility company offers, we can right-size your solar system to comply with those rates so that you can see the greatest returns. Generating excess energy gives you the opportunity to save even more on energy bills, but your solar system will need sufficient storage in order to take full advantage of net metering programs.

How Do Solar Panels Store Energy?

Solar panels are designed to convert sunlight into electrical energy in real time but cannot store energy by themselves. Solar panels must be paired with a solar energy storage system to correctly store solar energy, such as solar energy batteries, to store excess energy.

Solar Energy Storage Batteries

Solar energy batteries are used to store energy generated from the solar panels. The energy stored can be utilized when there are lower levels of sunlight, at night, or on cloudy days to ensure a steady energy supply to the home.

Financing & Tax Incentives for Solar Panels

Renewable energy solutions such as solar panels can significantly benefit your home, and financing options are available depending on needs.

Additionally, state and/or federal tax incentives for installing solar panels on your home are often worth exploring.
